THE PHONE started in 1970 as a single 24-hour crisis and emotional support line. Today THE PHONE is available to communities throughout Louisiana through various points of entry. We are here to listen to you. To ensure that no one in the community has to go through a tough time alone, trained Crisis Intervention Specialists (CIS) are available to listen and talk with you whenever you need help the most.

Calls to The PHONE come from all types of people with all sorts of feelings and problems including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, loneliness, interpersonal problems and financial issues. Callers to The PHONE are connected to paraprofessionals, highly trained in crisis intervention and suicide prevention.
